Potter Valley

The Potter Valley AVA is located in northern Mendocino County, California around on town of Potter Valley. Potter Valley has extreme differences in temperature between the afternoon and evening, which makes Potter Valley unique from other growing areas in Mendocino. During the height of the growing season, the afternoons are hot and receive direct sunlight, but in the evening, the temperatures severely drop and cool off the valley. Due to the temperature variations, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and, Pinot Noir do very well here.
